Gold/Silver or Gold/Silver plated?
A lot of online sellers who are not ethical will ‘forget’ to mention that the particular piece of jewelry is gold or silver plated, instead of being made out of the full metal. In this case, pay attention to the price of the product. If the piece is ridiculously cheap and presented as being gold or silver, it is most likely only gold or silver plated. A lot of shoppers who are uninformed about this could give them a great review, and months will pass until they notice the scam. Also, pay attention to the full product description; read even the tiniest of text. If the name of the product says ‘silver’ or ‘gold’, but somewhere in the text is mentioned that it contains other materials as well, it is most likely gold or silver plated.
